A basic angling license is enough for trout, bass, bluegill, crappie, and other warmwater fish when no location-specific endorsement or validation applies.
2026 booklet pp. 6The Youth License includes angling, hunting, and shellfish licenses plus the Columbia River Basin Endorsement. Children younger than 12 do not need an angling or shellfish license.
2026 booklet pp. 6-7The tag is required for every angler, regardless of age. Add the Columbia River Basin Endorsement when targeting salmon, steelhead, or sturgeon in the basin.
